The Border Crisis: A view of Biden’s true colors
Everyone can agree that law and order is necessary for any nation, and that a nation cannot exist without some form of protection of its borders. Can anyone, even Democrats dispute this?, Well, apparently President Biden does. Once he took office, he ended construction of President Trump’s border wall, ended the National Emergency declaration at the border and ended his ban of immigrants from many countries, including Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, North Korea, Nigeria, & Venezuelan government officials from entering the country, just as conservatives feared and liberals anticipated.
He reinstated DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) which gives amnesty to the children of illegal immigrants, and promoted insane bills such as the “U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021”, which would do things like giving citizenship to all 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States; even fellow Democrats such as Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin of Illinois called the bill "aspirational". Fortunately this bill will not likely pass Congress without major changes.
And what happened? A huge surge in illegal activity, that’s what. In just one month with Biden as President there was a 61% increase in illegal immigrants crossing the border, bringing crime and drugs with them; the worst part of it all is that border agents no longer had any power after Biden issued an order that for 100 days, all deportations of immigrants would be banned. The State of Texas filed a lawsuit due to the fact that Biden had pledged to work with Texas on solutions, fortunately the case went in favor of Texas, stopping Biden’s moratorium from coming into effect.
Now we arrive at one of the worst repercussions about our 46th President- all through his campaign he tried to act as a work-across-the-aisle pragmatic problem solver, but his actions have been just the opposite. Instead of working with Republicans for solutions like he pretended he would, he forced radical ideas, like doubling the minimum wage, “infrastructure funding” that actually spends more on climate change than roads & bridges, and a bill that would make DACA, which gives amnesty to the children of illegal immigrants, currently just a policy, a part of Federal law (9 weak Republican representatives actually voted for this).
Usually when you have a problem, you try to fix it, Biden has instead tried to act as if nothing is happening; even after his joint address to Congress, Biden has still not done a news conference with the press, and he’s been in office for 113 days. By comparison Trump had his first news conference after only a week in office. Instead he pawns it off to someone else, such as Press Secretary Jen Psaki, who seems to have been delegated “Chief Presidential Obfuscator” in addition to her current duties. Similarly, Biden has also pawned off the border crisis to Vice President Kamala Harris, as if it were some second-rate problem instead of the massive crisis it is, Harris is also declining calls from several GOP lawmakers to come to the border and see the crisis firsthand, instead she is going what she calls “the root of the problem”, which is sitting in a highly secure office talking to the Presidents of Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras & Guatemala, sympathizing with them and achieving absolutely nothing.
Overall, the electorate didn’t realize the disaster Biden’s policies would cause and now it is too late. We have a President who inherited a problem in decline, only to pour fuel on the fire. Fortunately Biden’s approval rates have been falling, and I predict 2022 will be a very big red wave, followed by another in 2024. I think the border crisis will be a major issue for these elections and a reason for this red wave. Overall Biden's policies have been a disaster for America, but hopefully America and her people will come to their senses and elect someone who can fix them.
